The Voice of a New Generation of Scientist: Sarika Cullis-Suzuki

Beckett, Chris, (filmmaker). Donald Cameron, Silver, (filmmaker). Kanopy (Firm) (Added Author).

Summary: Interview with Sarika Cullis-Suzuki, a marine biologist who studies high-seas fisheries, marine wildlife sanctuaries, and the effects of human development on sea life, especially in the inter-tidal zones of the Pacific Ocean. Born and raised in British Columbia, she is the youngest daughter of renowned broadcaster and scientist David Suzuki and writer and environmentalist Tara Cullis. A childhood and youth spent steeped in the sea life around Quadra Island, B.C., have given Cullis-Suzuki a passion for science and for protecting the oceans that she says sustain all human life. She is currently studying for her PhD at the University of York in England, where she is researching the effects of human-made noise on fish in the Pacific Ocean.
